It is with great happiness and joy that I announce a date for the first Goddess Gathering here in Naples under the sponsorship of Anakosha. The first women's gathering will be held in a hotel hospitality suite from 6 to 10 pm on Monday evening, January 7, 2019. This, our first one, will be a wonderful celebration and a chance to meet new friends. We'll have a short guided meditation first, then an introduction circle, then a social time to circulate freely with light snacks. Then perhaps another discussion, and another social time. That is the general idea, but not fixed in concrete.
I am Diana of Anakosha and I've been writing about the feminine perspective for many years. I am labeling the gatherings "Goddess Gatherings" rather than "Womens Gatherings" because the focus is on divine values or heart values, not human values which tend to complicate and bog people down. The divine feminine could be defined as the inner woman, in comparison to the outer woman's personality mask. The divine feminine is kind and caring, nourishing and gentle, uplifting and supportive. It is heart-centered, not brain-centered or logic-centered. Women are the care-givers of families. They have instincts to hug and embrace those who need it. And they have gone overboard with their caring. They are now the ones who need a lot of hugs and kindnesses themselves right now, because the world is going a little crazy. So women are gathering to nourish the gene pool with divine feminine values. They are doing this by coming together in strength and purpose, in order to liberate the imprisoned soul and raise each other up with a light heart and joy, and guide the world back to sanity again.
This first gathering on January 7th is limited to 20 women. Yesterday I went to the hotel and counted seats. We will need some extra chairs, but they will fit. All in good time. I'll be writing more about the setup as time goes on. I wanted to schedule a two-day event but it's too expensive, so it is being scheduled for only one day. Four-hours, from 6 to 10 pm on January 7th. In celebration of womenhood the world over. As we pool ideas together and sound board I'll write about them and post them online. I am sure we will be able to bring more women into the circle. Soon we will be able to afford a two-day event to enable more space and friendliness. There are adjoining suites that also can be added. Meanwhile, let the goddess dream on into wakefulness.
Each woman holds a piece of the Mother God within her heart and soul. Not everyone is ready to speak out but it is not necessary to speak. If she shows up, her presence will speak volumes. This announcement is a calling to come forward in whatever capacity she feels able. Sharing dreams may be too high-minded. Maybe she is overwhelmed with lacks and depression. Just being with other women in sacred circle is a lifting process. It soothes. She may then go home with additional light carried in her aura.
While most of the women I know are retired seniors (like me), younger women who have children and husbands and jobs are especially needing sisterly support. We urge young women to respond. Many women are kept so busy they are frazzled and ready to break. Even older women who are retired are depressed, lonely, hurting. Women of all ages need feminine, motherly, sisterly kindness that men have not been able to provide. A women's circle is invaluable and has been lacking. I've talked to many who are hungry for it - and sense it in the market place.
I'll tell a little story here as the back story to goddess gatherings. While waiting for the green light to get me up off the couch and actually set the date for the first goddess gathering, I was growing impatient. I knew it was coming. The momentum was gathering, I was talking with people, I could feel it coming closer but I had to wait for the sign. I always wait for "the sign" that the universe has lined things up and it's "a go". The signal came when a goddess friend from Hawaii called and asked if she could come and visit in January. She would be in California for her mother's funeral.
Well, I was overjoyed. We are like sisters. Tamsen and Elle - another goddess friend here in Naples - and I used to get together every week for what we called "goddess nights". We had either a fire pit under the night sky, or a massage and hot tub, or a wine party in the kitchen, or a meditation, however the spirit moved us. We called them "goddess nights" because Elle was known as the swampgoddess and Tamsen picked up on that and enlarged it. It was fun, light-hearted, joyful and we laughed a lot and shared a lot. When Tamsen called I felt my excitement leap into life. Eureka! That was the sign! Excitement. I secretly started laughing to myself at how the universe works. Below is a picture of us at one of our goddess circles in 2009. Notice the orbs of light. One behind Elle's head (standing up) and one over her right hand. Tamsen is in green. The energy must have been high that night.
Tamsen brings a powerful earth energy. She will be the guest of honor at this first gathering of the goddesses, along with Elle who lives here in Naples. Tamsen is one of the original shamans - wise women - from the Mother Land of Mu - Lemuria - that ancient land which sank beneath the Pacific Ocean, leaving only mountain peaks showing. We know them as the Hawaiian islands. Tamsen is an old, old soul with a large comforting presence. She is so down to earth it's scary to me who is rather spacy. There is a picture of her on her website at www.tamsenfox.com where she posts her beautiful native art work. She designed the logo at the top of this page many years ago, when the three of us were considering expanding our goddess nights.
And I would like you to meet Elle, too, for she embodies a different kind of energy. Elle is quiet, dignified, graceful, intelligent, spiritual and comes from the stars. She is like an angel. She listens intently to whoever is speaking, and feels deep within herself for the link, the connection which integrates her spirit with that of the other. She has a delightful sense of humor which pops out when least expected. She is a bright star who fell to earth to help.
There are other women who are goddesses in their own right, and I would like to talk about each one of them here, but I need to curb my enthusiasm. I write too much. But one last thing. Organizing goddess gatherings is not my idea. It is a universal calling. It is coming from Source and it is coming through women because women are closer to Source than men are, due to their feeling natures. Women's circles are starting to pop up on the internet. I couldn't find them five years ago when I looked, but they are there now, though still small in number. Check out https://www.gatherthewomen.org which is the best one I've found so far. There are pictures of womens gatherings around the world, and a guide on how to start your own circle. We will be one of them. Another picture below of the five of us at a goddess gathering in 2009.
The women's movement is gathering momentum. The patriarchal rule is crumbling. Slowly and with resistance, but crumbling. The patriarchy is not OUR men, who have souls and hearts. The patriarchy is the elite, white, male, controlling, sinister force that has no heart and no soul. They would be called corrupt. Their law is greed and selfishness and amassing fortunes at the expense of others by manipulating, stealing and lying. They are the ones who have created the rules that pin us down with complications that require specially trained lawyers to understand. And heartless punishments if we don't obey what we feel is not right. They are the ones who are making headlines in their convoluting attempts to escape exposure, for they have infiltrated every government, country and system on the planet and don't want to be found out. Women are the counterbalance. The inner feminine transcends man-made laws. They want peace, love and harmony and they know what is right and what is wrong.
The feminine inspired souls of truth are saving the planet as they dare to come out of the closet. Feminine values have long been suppressed. Women have lost confidence in their ability to speak their own truth for they were beaten down. The new generations are coming in lighter than before. The younger women can help the older women to find their voice, and the older women can help the younger women with experiences they haven't had yet. We need each other. In the sacred circles we validate truths we don't know we have. Same gender truths that men don't share. There is feeling of liberation when the goddess in one links up with the goddess in another. The women's circles are serving to embrace and strengthen. It takes courage for someone who has been buried in self-doubts and low self-esteem to take action, after a lifetime of following orders, unable to be true to self. Goddess circles are sacred circles. The space within them is protected all within the circle, so that each woman has permission to speak openly and freely - or not to speak if that is their choice.
