Integrating sex and spirituality in the lifestyle
The nature of sex is love
While we humans are spiritual by nature (of the sky) we are drawn to earthy, lusty physical sex like moths to a flame. We can't have sex in the sky. I'm a spiritual person but I need my body to have sex.
Sex is all about earth energy. Many people live in their minds (in the sky) preoccupied with work, family, responsibilities and a dizzy array of other things including spiritual and esoteric. It's difficult to get turned on to warm fuzzy body feelings when you're in the sky, or the high ivory tower of the mind. We need something earthy to draw us downward. Men like eye candy, women like body rubs and kisses.
The nature of sex is physical love. The orgasm explodes into the body with loving feelings. We don't like to acknowledge that sex is love. We prefer to say, "It's just sex" but consider how loving you feel after orgasm. Even if it is a quickie with a stranger, for a short while you forget your limitations, you forget the taboos, the guilt, and that maybe you're not supposed to do this. You even forget your name or where you are and you might say, "I love you" without thinking because love has been released and is now flowing through you.
The nature of sex is love. Even the violent person who rapes is seeking love. You can call it an act of control, or hate, or anger if you want to, but everyone wanting sex is after that feeling. It is time we acknowledged that the nature of sex is love. Love can't be defined. It simply is. There is spiritual love and then there's physical love. Spiritual love is not that powerful to most human beings, but physical love will move mountains. It's that strong. It's grounded. Spiritual love is airy, of the air. Physical love holds the world together. It's solid and it's real. It gives us friends, families, music, art, science and the rest of our physical world.
Love flows through us all the time. It can be felt just standing close to another person. Sometimes it makes us uncomfortable. It's either a turn-on or a turn-off. It starts a chemical reaction in our bodies. We might try to move away. This kind of physical attraction or repulsion is not personal. You don't have to fall in love or relationship to feel it. It's not shameful. It's just chemistry. It's the love in you mixing with the love in the other person for hot or for cold. That's what chemistry is: an attraction or a repulsion.
When love moves through our muscles and tissues it's because something triggered it. There's a warm and earthy glow. It can happen any time, any where. We can try to turn it off with our minds but it's not easy. We have to move away from the trigger. It's natural and by engaging in sex periodically we find ourselves happy and fulfilled. It helps us to get back in touch with Mother Earth. We ground, center and balance our whirling minds in some kind of mystical way.
We can't learn about sex from books or lectures. We need to experience it. We need to jump in and bask in it, smell it, touch it, lie with it, absorb it into our skin and feel its pulse flowing in us. To learn about sex we need to lose ourselves in it. It's just not analyze-able from a distance, from a book. I made love this morning and am feeling the peace even now. I feel refreshed, strong and empowered. I had a physical orgasm. As a woman I don't always have a physical orgasm when I make love. While it's enjoyable, it's not the same. When I have a physical orgasm the sensation of fulfillment and peace is profound.
As children we came to know the world by walking through the grass and touching the bark on the trees and lying in the fields with the grasshoppers, and playing in the snow and falling into the pond and touching our tongue to the freezing cold water pipe. We come to know nature by going out and joining nature. Sex is about as natural as you can get. It is the most fundamental, most basic, most intensely REAL thing there is about being human. But it's love, not "just sex". We need to explore it better. We NEED to explore it in order to be fully human. And we need to explore it with love and respect for our partners to fully enjoy it. We can have sex with many people. We don't need to restrict ourselves to one. We need many people to appreciate the fullness of love and the multi-dimensionality of it.
Each individual has a right to explore his or her own makeup without obstruction. It's all about your own feelings inside of you. If it's happening in your body, then it's your heritage. It's who you are. It's your right to feel who you are and what you're made of. You don't need to explain yourself or deny yourself or feel guilty over your own feelings of bliss, rapture and love as they blossom in you - as long as you are kind and respectful of others.
Seeing pictures of naked girls and watching porn movies is not the same thing. A warm body lying close to you is more real. It gets you out of your head and into your body. Fantasies are in the mind, not the body. While some people, especially men, don't know how to get that warm body to lie close to, I suggest they learn about love. Not just sex but love. We have been avoiding the love part. It's immense. It's huge. It's an ocean that we are merely skipping over the surface of. We need to acknowledge the nature of sex as love. And discuss it. We need to find ways of getting past the door that blocks our entry to the loving depths beneath. A five-minute quickie will not do it. Most of us have never explored the larger nature of sex, composed of smells, colors, textures, stars and galaxies.
There's an ocean of powerful love behind the horniness. Applying some loving kindness with a warm body will relieve the pressure and open up a new world. The whole planet of Mother Earth is behind this horniness. It's Mother Earth's powerful love that we are feeling and which implodes into us at the moment of orgasm. It is She we are desirous of connecting with. It is Mother Earth, a living planet with a soul and feelings of her own, that we are urged to re-connect with. All species are drawn to have sex. As we do, we become one with the planet. We come "home". Complete. Fulfilled. We are spirit connecting with earth every time we have an orgasm. It is time we accepted the awesome nature of sex, which is love.
The moist, wet earth with its smell of musk is the flora and fauna of our bodies. Out of this primal steamy, earthy environment are born pure and innocent babies. No different than red roses, baby bunnies and baby chicks. The earth is our mother. We are her offspring. It is through physical love that we have come into being. Religions would have us deny it, but it is the love of Mother Earth and our reconnection with her that grounds us and completes us. There is a great mystery to sex that we need to re-examine. We have been fed a lot of disinformation. It's time to go back and look again, to see what we're really dealing with. It is beautiful, not shameful.
